Two cylinder, four stroke diesel engine, water cooled, direct injection fuel system, 12 V electric start motor and belt driven alternator, Bosch (Delphi) single injection pumps, with mechanical governor, injectors, naturally aspirated, gear driven oil pump, gear driven water pump, gear driven camshaft and FIP, fuel filter, wet liners, anticlockwise rotation looking at flywheel, 15 degrees inclined from horizontal.

Derating 1 % approx. every 100 m altitude and 2 % approx. every 5°C above 20°C. Ratings certified within tolerance of 5 % after running-in and operation with air cleaner and muffler.
